PMI Corporate Outreach Track

The PMI Corporate Outreach initiative was started in 2014 by the South branch and since then has been rolled out to our other Sweden branches with the aim of raising awareness of the value of project management within a wider organizational perspective.

This year at Passion For Projects we have designed a special Corporate Outreach track focusing on “projects in a strategic and organisational context”. This open track is aimed firstly at executives and senior management levels, who are responsible for organisational strategy as well as line managers, PMOs, Program and Project managers working to deliver strategic benefits.

In plenum sessions and a panel debate we will discuss and gain insights into:

- why organisations spend millions of euros on projects that seldom meet expectations to deliver intended business benefits

- how organisations can better use project management to deliver desired results

- what the pre-requisites are to improving the bottom line results through a collaborative project management organisation

During the conference you will have the possibility to listen and talk to some of the best and most motivating international speakers in their fields. Among others, Andrew Kallmann, PMP and Enterprise Agile Transformation Coach, will talk from the management perspective about the “journey to a truly collaborative culture”. Monique Aubrey PhD, Professor for Project management and EMBA at the University of Quebec School of Business, Canada, will present her latest research on a “strategic approach to PMOs and Benefits of Organising for Projects.” Keynote speaker Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe, will share his insights into “how the future world will constantly challenge your business model, agility is key!”

In the panel discussion, we will be asking our experts representing both c-suite and project organizational roles whether senior executives neglect project management. How can we narrow the communication gap between senior management and the project organisation? How can we increase collaboration?

Furthermore, in a PMI exclusive for Passion For Projects 2017, the Corporate Outreach team lead by Håkan Olsson and together with Henrick Bagewitz from KPMG, will be announcing the results of a Sweden-wide survey done in collaboration with KPMG. Executing the right projects in the right way is a key to competitiveness and more often a prerequisite for surviving the game in the long run. This survey, one of the most extensive of its kind in Sweden with over 400 responses, is aiming to take the temperature on how projects are managed in Sweden today, describing trends and critical success factors pointing out the high cost of low performance.

With exception of the panel discussion taking place in High Live all Corporate Outreach speakers will be presenting in Live 2.

Come and join us and our expert speakers in Live 2 and if you’re interested in learning more about the Corporate Outreach initiative we’ll be there to take questions and provide you with any information you need.
