We are continuously confronted by change yet often find it challenging. This begs the ‘meta’ question what needs to change so that we can deal with change without too much difficulty. This presentation draws on guidance from the speaker’s recent publication ‘High-velocity IT’. Topics include complex adaptive systems, service experience and empathy, diversity, ethics, and meaningful and rewarding employment. The liberating bottom line is that there is only so much that can be planned for, and that emergent behaviour is best dealt with by people with a diverse yet coherent set of values, agency to exercise their professional judgement, and confidence in their ability to collaborate and communicate.
Key take away: There is only so much that can be planned for.
